GreenKidz Indigenous Trees Project Successfully Completed
In June 2024, GreenKidz successfully completed its tree project for five schools in Banda Bou. This project, focusing on the importance of indigenous trees in the fight against climate change, was generously funded by the Lions Club Curaçao. It was aimed at students from both mainstream and special education, allowing GreenKidz to develop a wide range of bilingual teaching materials, coloring pages, and picture boards.

In this project, students first receive lessons at school, where they engage in fun, interactive, and creative activities to learn why (indigenous) trees are important and special. Afterward, they go on an excursion with guest teachers from GreenKidz and guides from Uniek Curaçao to the beautiful nature park Roi Rincon, where they complete various tasks with and around the trees in nature.
With the Banda Bou Trees Project, GreenKidz has been able to develop beautiful and colorful new educational materials for all schools in Curaçao, reaching hundreds of students from Banda Bou. GreenKidz hopes to carry out this tree project many more times in the future for schools in Curaçao, provided sufficient sponsorship is available!
The GreenKidz Foundation was established in 2015 with the goal of ‘Changing the mindset of generations’. In recent years we have reached thousands of students and hundreds of teachers with modern, multilingual environmental education. In the coming years we will focus on young people throughout the Dutch Caribbean with innovative nature and environmental education and (digital) learning programs.
