GreenKidz Participates in 48 Hour Film Project

In early October 2024, GreenKidz enthusiastically took part in the 48 Hour Film Project, which was held on Curaçao for the eighth time. This global film competition saw 17 film teams participate on Curaçao, with the GreenKidz teen team being the youngest team in the competition.

Teens Max, Ziva, Axel, Tyler, Aldryon, and Abigail, guided by July Anne and Roos van der Leden, produced the original and humorous short film ‘Buzzing Love’, which was screened on October 10 at the Movies Otrobanda.
Although the film did not win any awards, it was appreciated by the audience for its humor and original GreenKidz script. In the film, two teens, chased by mosquito puppets, accidentally bump into each other in the salt flats of Jan Thiel, fall in love, and get married amid loud buzzing.
GreenKidz hopes to participate in the 48 Hour Film Project more often in the future with its own teen team and a fun GreenKidz story to showcase the wealth of filmmaking talent among the youth.
The GreenKidz Foundation was established in 2015 with the goal of ‘Changing the mindset of generations’. In recent years we have reached thousands of students and hundreds of teachers with modern, multilingual environmental education. In the coming years we will focus on young people throughout the Dutch Caribbean with innovative nature and environmental education and (digital) learning programs.
